AL STRONG HONORED The TechServe Alliance Annual Conference took place from November 9 -11, 2017 at the Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass in Chandler, AZ. TechServe Alliance is the premier IT & engineering staffing association dedicated to advancing excellence and ethics within the industry. At the end of the keynote address, President of Project One, Gary Zander presented a very moving tribute to our Al and CPS. Here is some of what he had to say- “I’m very honored to say a few words in remembrance of Al Strong who passed away earlier this year. Al was a dear friend and business associate of mine who I first met at TechServe 20 years ago when we were NACCB (National Assoc. Computer Consult Businesses) Many of you may also know Al since he’s played such a prominent, leadership role in our industry both nationally and in the Los Angeles community. Al was one of the pioneers of the IT staffing industry helping shape and support its growth and evolution starting 50 years ago. At TechServe, Al helped start the Southern California chapter and was on the national board for many years. In 1978, Al founded his current company, Commercial Programming Systems or CPS which helped launch the concept “Contract for Hire” or temp-to-perm business – and which currently provides full service IT staffing services. During his career, Al has placed thousands of people into new positions and they have remained very loyal to him as he was to them.” On a personal note Gary concluded. “What I and many of us will miss most about Al is... his wisdom & advice – he was a terrific coach & mentor – you always got the truth from Al whether you liked it or not.” Thank you Gary and TechServe Alliance for honoring Al and CPS.
